Frequently Asked Questions

While we are always happy to discuss any special requirements or requests that you may wish to enquire about, we have included some Frequently Asked Questions below in order to help you make an informed decision about booking with our venue!

Alcohol:

Is alcohol available at the village hall?

Can we bring our own alcohol?

What is the cost of hiring the bar?

What are the bar prices?

The Walmer Bridge Village Hall has a licensed bar on site to supply you with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic refreshment. Bar snacks are also available.

No alcohol can be brought onto the premises for personal consumption without the prior agreement of the Committee. A corkage fee may be charged.

There is no cost to have the bar open for your event - however, there is an expectation that there will be a minimum takings of £50 and if that is not reached during the event, you will be asked to make up the rest of the sum to the total of £50..

You can find a full list of our bar pries here:

Disabled Access:

Is the hall accessible to those with disabilities?

All aspects of our hall are accessible for wheelchair users.

There is a small flight of stairs between the hallway and the main hall, which can be circumnavigated by exiting the building and re-entering at hall level for those who cannot negotiate steps.

A designated unisex disabled toilet is in situ in the main hallway.

Catering:

Can you offer catering for our party?

Can we bring in outside caterers for our party?

What catering facilities do you have on site?

Unfortunately we are not able to offer to cater for your party. You can take a look at our list of trusted suppliers we have worked with in the past here:

You are welcome to bring in outside caterers to feed your guests. If they have any special requirements (e.g. for wood fired pizza/hog roast/BBQ) please let the Booking Secretary know when booking so we can advise on any special arrangements.

We have a newly-fitted large kitchen with all mod cons for you to use if you choose to self-cater your event. Please let the Booking Secretary know if you require the use of the kitchen at the time of booking.
